Richmond and Hillcroft Adult & Community College offers a range of vocational and leisure provision for adult learners. The new college was formed through the recent merger of RACC and Hillcroft College.

An exciting opportunity exists at Richmond and Hillcroft Adult and Community College in the Learning Resources Centre. The successful applicant will play a key role as part of a dynamic small LRC team creating a responsive and welcoming environment to college staff and learners. The team provides resources (electronic and print) for students and staff, runs a helpdesk and develops and delivers inductions for students and teaching staff in using eresources, etechnologies and digital/information skills. The team also manages the college Moodle Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

The team has been recognized in 2017 for its innovative work with Best Practice Awards by the Council for Learning Resources in Colleges (CoLRiC) .

The Learning Resources Centre/ e-Learning Advisor will:

·         Provide support for the Digital and Learning Resources Manager in the daily provision of a responsive and welcoming learning environment for all college staff and learners and actively contribute to its overall development.

·         Carry out enquiry and front desk of house counter duties

·         Coach staff and students in the use of technologies eg Kindles, iPads and apps and development of digital literacy skills.

·         Train staff in creating interactive content for the VLE.

·         Play a key role in the acquisition, management, promotion and development of eresources and technologies to meet the needs of learners and staff.

·         Provide computerised diagnostic assessment for learners.

You will have strong communication and IT skills, be customer-focused with a flexible can-do attitude. Experience of working in a learning resources/library would be an advantage where attention to detail is invaluable.

This role would suit a proactive, articulate and confident individual who would like work as part of a teamdeveloping innovative approaches to the use of etechnologies and eresources and who enjoys working closely with academic staff and learners. The post is primarily based at Hillcroft and involves flexible working across the Hillcroft and Richmond sites with some evening and weekend working.
